Cape Arago Light #LH302
Just south of Coos Bay, Oregon, and 2.5 miles north of Cape Arago (originally known as Cape Gregory), is a small, detached piece of land with sheer cliffs called Chief's Island by the Indians. It was here, in 1866, that the first Cape Arago Lighthouse was erected. This is the 3rd lighthouse and was first illuminated in 1934. | |
